Celebrate MLK Day of Service; Show Hospitalized Children and Marines They are Supported
Join us to celebrate one man’s dream to make the world a better place. On January 18th we need volunteers for our annual MLK Day of Service project. We cannot be together, but COVID-19 can’t stop us from creating fun, caring homemade Valentines for children at Evanston Hospital and our troops (female marines at Camp Pendleton)! Instead of being together this is an at home project; we will supply you with kits. It is easy and a good family activity; sign-up to make at least 4 cards. Art supplies will be available for pick-up or drop off. Create at least 4 handmade "Heroes" and "Happy" Valentine Cards for either 1) female Marines at Camp Pendelton and/or 2) hospitalized children at Evanston Hospital. A Valentine making kit -a bag of ideas and craft items will be at the Clubhouse for pick-up January 12 and 13 from 9:30-3:00. Finished cards need to be dropped off at the Clubhouse January 25, 26 or 27th to be included.
If you aren’t into making cards or just want to help in another way; we also would be grateful for Valentine angels to help us buy the fuzzy socks we send to each child and marine.
Please join us by signing-up through the button on the right. Email Sandra Smith sas2146@yahoo.com or Chris Gretchko chrisgretchko2007@yahoo.com with any questions.
