On Thursday, January 29, Book Buzz members will gather at the WCE to discuss The Secret Book of Flora Lea written by Patti Callahan Henry. The book tells the story of a young British woman Flora’s discovery of a rare book with inexplicable connections to her past and long-held secrets about her childhood in the English countryside during World War II. She and her sister had been evacuated from London to a rural village to escape the horrors of the war, and while there, the unthinkable happens when her five-year-old sister suddenly vanishes and is assumed drowned. The book traces Flora’s feverish quest to discover the truth of her sister’s disappearance, while hoping that she may still be alive. The discussion leader will be Sue Bautch and we will be meeting at the WCE again that evening.
