ARTSiE engages and empowers children and families through equity and excellence
in arts and education programming, bridging and strengthening cultures
and communities in the Chicagoland area.
This year’s Spring Benefit is helping ARTSiE raise programming funds to offset isolation
and loneliness in Evanston’s overlooked communities. ARTSiE will hold PhotoVoice classes
throughout the year for Lydia Home children. Lydia Home is a therapeutic residential home
for children aged 9 through 15 who have endured physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse.
PhotoVoice gives these children the power of self-expression, an opportunity to share ideas
and feelings with themselves, each other, and the Evanston community through photography
and written narratives. It’s a chance for them to learn creative skills and feel seen.
